1. Bring all the necessary items near you. (Like Glucometer device, Test Strip, Lancet, Rubbing alcohol and cotton)
2. Clean your finger/other parts to make it ready for pricking with a lancet.
3. Switch on the glucometer and place the test strip in it.
4. Take your lancing device and set it as per your skin thickness and prick at the cleaned site. This will result in a blood drop.
5. Take your glucometer loaded with a test strip and point its test strip to blood drop for a few seconds.
# Do check your glucometer before placing it to blood drop. Is it still on? Some glucometer tends to switch-off automatically after 30-45 seconds.
6. Now, wait for a few seconds. 
7. Your result is ready now on the screen.
8. Dispose of the test strip and lancet safely.
